Abbreviated season, but there's a season

The Vets Middle School cross county team has tested its mettle against Winman Junior High and middle schools in Cranston and Coventry in the past three weeks. And while not official meets, girls track coach Owen Paquet said that overall the team is among the best. He singled out Keaney Bayha, with a finish under 11 minutes and Liam Holmes as among the top runners. Bob Bayha, Keaney's grandfather is coaching the boys. The team's last scheduled meet is this Friday, but there could be more said Paquet. Given the pandemic, Paquet said, "some season is better than no season." In order to capture this picture Tuesday, Bayha sent the kids around a tree in the Vets yard and back. (Warwick Beacon photo)
