Carl Edward Buschner Jr., a Warwick resident, passed away on December 24, 2019 after a period of illness.

Carl was born on Feb. 15, 1944, to Carl Buschner Sr. and Elizabeth Buschner. A Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science award in high school preceded his attendance at Hofstra University and a lifelong career as a computer systems analyst. When not in front of a computer, Carl was a passionate and avid outdoorsman and expert fisherman. He also enjoyed both playing and listening to classical guitar. Carl was a great lover of animals. In his later life he found great joy walking in Salter Park and feeding stray cats.

He is survived by two siblings, Ivy Rabinowitz and Marci Buschner.

Formal services were not held per his wishes and those of his family.

Those wishing to honor his memory can consider a small donation to Pawswatch, an all-volunteer non-profit organization that helps provide vaccinations and other services for feral cats in Rhode Island. Information can be found at pawswatch.org/about-pawswatch.
