Eugene Collins, 101, passed away peacefully Christmas Eve after a long full life. Gene spent his final years at the R.I Veterans Home in Bristol. He was the son of the late Harriet and Ernest Collins. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Pyne Collins.

Born in Lowell, MA, Gene has a long career at ITT as a purchasing agent before his retirement. Gene served honorably in World War II most notably at the Battle of the Bulge. He received many commendations including the Purple Heart. His family would like to extend their gratitude to the R.I Veterans Home (Alpha) for there kindness, compassion, and love that they showed to him every day.

He is survived by his loving children David Collins (Jean) and Susan Garzoli (Ray). He was predeceased by his sisters Bea and Pearl and Brother Roy. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was deeply loved, and his example of kindness and selflessness will always remain with his family. .

His funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial with Military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
