Gilbert Mozart Holmes, passed away on March 10, 2024 in Chandler, Arizona. He was 80.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Suzanne (née Laurence), his brother Paul, his children Jacqueline Nieto, Katherine Krishnan, Jeffrey, and 7 grandchildren.
Gil born June 1, 1943, and was a native of West Warwick, Rhode Island. He was the first in his family to earn a college degree - a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He received a Master's in Engineering Management from Northeastern University.
He worked for Western Electric in Boston until 1980, when he moved to Tempe, Arizona to work for Micro-Rel, a division of Medtronic. In 1999, he moved to Minneapolis to oversee the construction of a new Medtronic facility. He retired in 2008 and returned to Arizona.
Gil was best known for his love of cars, technology, gadgets, and the movies - and movie popcorn! But most of all, he loved his grandchildren and even travelled to Thailand to see 3 of them when they were born.
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church on March 19, 2024, at 10:30a.m. Contributions in his name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
