Three cheers for Erik Thorp and his spirited defense of the name Rhode Island and Providence Plantations (Name change would dishonor Roger Williams - July 16)
Mr. Thorp is correct that calls for a name change are based on ignorance of history and hatred for America. And, yes, it would dishonor the memory of that most remarkable and good Christian man, Roger Williams.
