John L. Thompson Jr., 66, passed away on January 29, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of Warwick.

John retired in 2015 from the Warwick School Department after 35 years. He was an active member of the American Legion #43 for over 30 years. He was a seasonal camper for 14 years at Riverbend Campground in Oneco, Conn., where he made many cherished friendships and memories with his daughters.

John had a great love for golf. He spent many days golfing with this lifelong best friends since age 12, James Leveille and Michael McCabe. He was a loving, devoted father and papa. He loved to teach his girls life lessons, which we call “John Thompson Lessons.” From making your first fried egg at age 3 to mowing straight lines in the lawn, we will miss him so much. We will forever cherish every lesson taught, his advice and every single memory we have.

John was the son of the late John and Cecile Thompson of Warwick. He is survived by his loving siblings, James Thompson (Eileen), Kate Hildebrand (Lon), Wendy Lafontaine (Edward), Carol Lindberg (Paul), Jane Lindberg (Ken); his girls, Megan and Kelly Thompson of Warwick; his beautiful granddaughters, Cassidy Madyson and Kylie Rae; and not to forget his four-legged best girl, Tinsel Thompson.
