Michael David Henderson, age 73, died on Friday, March 19, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his devoted wife Susan (Pearson) Henderson.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late David K. and Viola (Bolow) Henderson. Michael served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Coast Guard. After his discharge from active duty, he graduated from Bryant University and then earned an M.B.A. from Providence College. Michael spent most of his career in transportation and operations. Michael was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church, a treasurer and lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and was actively involved in Warwick Junior Hockey and West Bay Islanders. He loved boating on the Bay and Waterman’s Lake, puttering around the house, watching football with his sons and grandsons, and reading “The Night Before Christmas” on Christmas Eve.

Michael was a proud father of David M. and his wife Cristen A. Henderson of Chepachet, RI and Ryan P. and his wife Hailey E. Henderson of West Palm Beach, FL. He was the grandfather of two adored grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua. He is survived by his two sisters, Judy Arruda (her late husband August) of Bristol, RI and Jane Balfour (and her husband David) of Ft. Myers, FL. He also leaves behind the Pearson family who provided love and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Warwick, followed by Interment with full Military Honors. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
