Robert William Darigan, 86, of Warwick, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Shirley A. (Ormsbee) Darigan.

Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Lester and Sarah (White) Darigan. Robert worked as a crash rescue crewman for T.F. Green Airport, State of Rhode Island for 35 years until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. In addition to his work, Robert was involved in several organizations, including the Warwick Historical Cemetery Commission, the Apponaug Old Timers, the Apponaug Improvement Association and the Arnold’s Neck Improvement Association. He was very proud of his Irish heritage.

In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his son, Robert W. Darigan Jr. of Connecticut; a devoted grandson whom he raised, Daniel E. Hall (Bethany); a brother, Richard Darigan of San Antonio, Texas; and his cherished great-granddaughter whom he loved, Cora Maria Hall. He was the father of the late Dennis Francis Darigan and brother of the late Lester Darigan Jr. and Lawrence J. Darigan Sr.

His funeral service was held on Monday, February 17 at 11 a.m. at Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick. Calling hours were held at the funeral home Sunday, February 16. Interment with military honors will take place at Brayton Cemetery, Warwick.
