A year after closing because of the pandemic, and then not reopening on Sundays because it lacked the personnel, the Warwick Public Library reopened this past Sunday. When Mayor Frank Picozzi learned the library was in jeopardy of losing more than $700,000 in funding because it failed to meet the minimum of 64 hours of operations weekly, he approved a part time library director that enabled the Sunday reopening. Attendance was spotty on Sunday, but that gave brothers Archer, 6, and Callen, 4, Corbeil lots of freedom to explore the shelves in the Children’s Library. They were accompanied by their grandmother, Ann Bonelli, a third grade teacher at Park School. Lillian Tobin, who traditionally worked Sunday’s until the pandemic hit, declared “we’re glad to be back.” (Warwick Beacon photos)
