T.F. Green nominated as nation's "Best small airport"

T.F. Green Airport has again been nominated by USA Today in their “10 Best Reader’s Choice travel awards” for 2021.

USA Today’s expert panel selected T.F. Green Airport as a contender for the Best Small Airport.

T.F. Green Airport was selected as the 2nd Best Small Airport in the United States after the voting process concluded last year and seeks to attain top standing in 2021.

“It was an honor to have so many Rhode Islanders and other fans of T.F. Green Airport show their support last year,” said Iftikhar Ahmed, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport. “With the help of our regional supporters, we hope to be recognized as the number one small airport in the nation to help restore Rhode Island’s Tourism and Hospitality industry as quickly as possible to bring travelers, jobs and income back to the Ocean State.”

“As Rhode Island begins the healing process of both our collective health and our economy, an honor for the state such as this could be a tremendous help in efforts to restore our local tourism economy when the pandemic wanes,” said RIAC Chair Jonathan N. Savage.

According to USA Today, “loyal fans of T.F. Green Airport in Rhode Island love it as an alternative to Boston Logan for its lack of crowd and lines and quick access to Providence and Boston via a dedicated train station. It’s also an excellent option for travelers headed to Cape Cod.”

Individuals can vote for the candidate of their choice at https://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-small-airport-2020.

Voters can vote once a day throughout the contest, which ends on Feb. 1, 2021.
