“Godspell” was at PPAC.

“Scary Movie 2” was worse than the first one. “Pearl Harbor” was an excellent movie.

“Shrek” was the biggest hit of the year.

Eddie From Ohio was at the Odeum.

Trinity Rep presented “Cider House Rules,” starring Brian McEleny, Stephen Thorne and Janice Duclos, with a terrific set by Eugene Lee.

The 131st edition of “The Greatest Show on Earth” was at the Dunk.

Nickelodeon’s “Blue’s Clues Live” returned to PPAC, delighting the youngsters. Tickets were $11-$25.

Larry Rachleff led the R I Philharmonic in the season finale.

40 years ago

The late Richard Kavanaugh starred in “Whose Life Is It Anyway” at Trinity Rep. Anne Scurria and Barbara Blossum played his nurses. Cait Calvo made her Trinity debut as the social worker.

Anthony Quinn starred in “Lion of the Desert” at Warwick Mall Cinema. “Atlantic City” starred Burt Lancaster and Susan Sarandon.

West Bay Theatre Company presented Woody Allen’s “Don’t Drink the Water” at West Warwick’s Villa Di Giorgio with Cranston’s Elmer Gardner in the lead.

The Academy Players performed “Camelot” at East Greenwich’s Swift Gym.

Governor Francis Inn had all-you-could-eat chicken and macaroni for $4.95.
