FROM STAFF REPORTS The Toll Gate football team is looking to return to the playoffs this season and took its first step toward doing so last weekend, spoiling host Smithfield’s homecoming with a 19-11 victory.
The Titans would take an early lead on a rushing touchdown from Roman Abatiello. Toll Gate senior quarterback and three-year starter Greyson Pasquina was sharp in the opener, throwing for a pair of touchdowns to Joseph Panowicz and Domenic Calise to hold off the Sentinels, who made a late push.
Toll Gate improved to 1-0 on the season and will host Ponaganset in its home opener on Saturday night at Cranston Stadium.
