LARCENY

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on March 25, Officer Kyle Palmer responded to a Warwick Avenue residence for a report of larceny.

At the scene, the reporting party told Palmer her vehicle – a 2017 Subaru Highlander – had been broken into and a purse taken from inside sometime between 8:30 p.m. on March 23 and 6:30 p.m. on March 24. The purse was said to contain $440 in cash, a driver’s license, a gold necklace, a credit card and a debit card.

The reporting party said her vehicle had been left unsecured. No security camera footage was immediately available. The matter was forwarded to detectives. ***

At approximately 5:17 p.m. on March 26, Officer Ryan Shibley spoke by phone a woman at Warwick regarding a lost wallet.

The woman – who had filed an online report – told Shibley she realized the wallet was missing after shopping at Dockside Seafood Marketplace on Warwick Avenue late in the afternoon on March 25. She indicated she might have lost the wallet while getting into her vehicle in the parking lot. She returned to the parking lot approximately 10 minutes after leaving but did not find the wallet, which was said to contain roughly $200 in cash, a driver’s license, credit cards and medical cards.

The matter was documented.

Just after 9:30 a.m. on March 28, Officer Jeffrey Taranto responded to the Jamestown Apartments on Warwick Avenue for a report of larceny. Dispatch advised that a “truck was ransacked overnight and some tools were taken,” according to the officer’s report.

At the scene, the reporting party told Taranto that he had been working on his truck – a 1999 Ford F350 – at approximately 10:20 p.m. on March 27. He went inside for about 10 minutes, and when he returned, he found paperwork from the vehicle’s glove box strewn around the inside. Additionally, two gas cans and two chainsaws were missing from the bed of the vehicle. The gas cans were valued at $20 each, while the chainsaws were valued at $499 and $400.

No security camera footage was immediately available. The matter was documented.

VANDALISM

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on March 23, Officer Kevin Warren responded to a Jefferson Boulevard address for a report of malicious damage.

At the scene, the reporting party – who works at the building – told Warren that at approximately 5:30 p.m. on March 23, he noticed water leaking from the fourth-floor ceiling. The man then went to the vacant fifth floor and found water on the staircase floor. Inside the fifth-floor bathroom, he found water “on full blast” and overflowing from the sink onto the floor. The sink’s drain appeared to be clogged with paper towels.

Warren observed the overflow and water damage. No security camera footage was immediately available. The matter was documented.
