Forty-four Winman Middle School students accompanied by teachers Stephanie Hips and Julie McCaffrey visited the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter Jan. 31 as part of the school’s support of Wreaths Across America's mission to Remember, Honor and Teach. Only this time, the students helped remove the wreaths that were placed on the graves of veterans in a Dec. 14 ceremony. The students helped clean up more than 5,000 wreaths. “By attending the cemetery and taking part in the clean-up process, students got to see the entire project from start to finish as part of our project-based learning class,” explained Hips.
