My problem is with the Mayor and the New Fire Chief kissing ass and fraternizing with the people they are supposed to protect the taxpayers from. It's a conflict, in my opinion, and even worse that the is that the Chief helps Mayor negotiate raises for the firefighters working for him, and LOW AND BEHOLD, the Mayor then gives him the same percentage raise the union gets. Essentially he approves his own raises. Chief already overpaid, since he makes 122K, not counting cost of all other benefits, when the Mayor only makes 100K.

This doesn't mean that Mayor needs a raise. It means All the Dept heads making more than the Mayor need a reduction. Chief also gets very hefty pension from City of Providence. This should not be allowed, and his prior pension should be suspended when they decide to take a new City job.

For that money, you think he would be Professional enough to return voice mail messages to the people paying his salary, when he requested that persons calls to be sent to him specifically.
